Tuna Patties

This is another thing I make when I haven’t gone to the store in while. I always have the ingredients in the cabinet and you can serve them with so many different things and so many different ways. Serve with salad, veggies or an avocado halved with lemon juice and salt and pepper!!!


  • 1 5 oz. pkg. light tuna in water not oil
  • zest of 1/2 - 3/4 of a lemon
  • heaping 1/4 tsp. dill weed
  • a few dashes of cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. onion powder
  • salt and pepper
  • 1/3 c. pancko crumbs
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • lemon slices and/or parsley


Step 1

Mix together the lemon zest, dill, cayenne pepper, onion powder, salt and pepper with the pancko crumbs. Toss with tuna and egg; lightly mix.

Step 2

Gently form patties with mixture and let chill in freezer for 5-15 minutes. Chilling helps the patties stay together better when cooking.

Step 3

Add some extra-virgin olive oil to a saute pan and heat up for 1-2 minutes over medium heat. Add patties and cook until nicely browned on both sides. You may want to turn them a couple of times to make sure the patty is cooked throughout. When nicely browned, plate and top with lemon slices and/or garnish with parsley.

Step 4

*Another option is to top the patties with Lemon Cream Sauce.
